Man dies after being left at Sumter hospital with gunshot wound

SUMTER, S.C. — Authorities are investigating a shooting after a person arrived at an area hospital and later died.
Investigators with Sumter Police have not yet established the location where the shooting occurred, but Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker said the 35-year-old male victim, identified as Travis Desmond Rouse, was dropped off at Prisma Health Tuomey just before 8 p.m. on Saturday. Rouse was pronounced dead around 8:40 p.m. of an apparent gunshot wound.
Baker deferred to law enforcement for additional details about what may have led up to the shooting. Authorities are still working to determine further information.
